FOOD & FURNITURE BANK

Parker Street provides food, furniture and household items to people in the Halifax Regional Municipality with a proven need.

Food Bank

The food bank is available to fill food orders on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between the hours of 8:30 am and 11:00 am at 2415 Maynard Street, Halifax.  Registration starts one half hour before food bank times.

Home delivery option is available for those with a documented medical condition limiting their mobility.

Furniture Bank

Furniture such as couches, beds, tables, chairs, etc. are provided free of charge to any family with proven need, however, a delivery charge may apply.  All orders are subject to availability.  If the furniture you require is not in stock, wait lists are available.

Delivery is subject to scheduling constraints and location of drop off.

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to arrange a delivery time. 

Household Items

Household items such as dishware, small appliances, lamps, etc. are available to families in need.  All orders are subject to availability and wait lists are available for specific items.

NOTE – Coming to register for food or furniture services you will need to bring:

  • Two pieces of ID for each adult
  • One piece of ID for each child
  • Proof of address
Acceptable identification includes driver’s license, health care card, passport, birth certificate, government issued identification, permanent resident card or immigration paperwork.
