Food & Furniture Bank

Parker Street provides food, furniture and household items to people in the Halifax Regional Municipality with a proven need.

Food Bank

Food Bank service is by appointment only. Pick-Ups are scheduled on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM & 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. 
Food deliveries are made every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for clients who are unable to visit our location due to mobility issues, and have submitted a doctor’s note indicating that need.

Our Furniture Bank provides beds, couches, tables, chairs and other household essentials to individuals and families with a proven need.

Household items such as dishware, small appliances, lamps, etc. are available to families in need.

Important note

When coming to register for food, furniture or other services at Parker Street, you will need to bring the following items.
  • One piece of ID for each adult
  • One piece of ID for each child
  • Proof of address
Acceptable identification includes a health card, driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, immigration paperwork, or any other form of government identification.

Important Note

When visiting Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank for food, furniture or other services, you will need to bring the following items.
  • One piece of ID for each adult

  • Your current lease
  • Notice of Income Tax Assessment for all those of working age residing with you (Some exceptions apply)
