JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Driver Assistant’s primary role includes assisting the Driver in picking up and delivering furniture, food and other goods as determined by the Operations Director.
REPORTING:
You will report to the Director of Operations, Safety & Security for information regarding your work schedule, your job performance and any issues pertaining to them. Your daily task assignment will be determined by the Directors of Operation, Client Services and the Driver with whom you’ve been assigned.
DUTIES:
- Unloading and loading of furniture, food, and other goods on and off trucks
- Assist clients with donations of furniture, food and other goods
- Assist clients when they pick up furniture
- Assist with food distribution and food warehouse duties
- Handle deliveries with proper care and concern
- Exercise courtesy, politeness, and respect in every aspect of dealing with our clients and donors
- Exercise a large degree of caution and care when carrying furniture and goods in the homes of donors; be especially mindful of walls, doorways, lights and other items
- Other duties as may be requested
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Takes pride in a job well done
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy furniture
- Willingness to learn
SHIFT REQUIREMENT:
- Approximately 40 flexible scheduled hours per week
- Suggested shift, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday
