Brightening Christmas for families in need for more than 30 years
Parker Street provides up to 1,000 families in need with Christmas Hampers each year.
Christmas Hamper
Parker Street’s Christmas Hamper Program supplies a decorated hamper (box) filled with all the ingredients to prepare a delicious, healthy Christmas turkey dinner. The children in the families are not forgotten; in addition to the turkey hamper, each family is given toys to put under the tree. This annual program continues to grow, helping financially vulnerable families and individuals in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Applications for the Christmas Hamper Program will close Nov. 30, 2026.
Thank you to our donors, volunteers and partners who help us bring joy to families each year at Christmastime. The Turkey Club provides frozen turkeys for our Christmas hampers, and the Halifax Professional Firefighters operate our annual Toy Drive, the Halifax Forum donates their building space for Christmas Hamper assembly, pick-ups and deliveries, and employees of the Bedford Institute of Oceanography volunteer their time to assemble each Christmas turkey hamper with care.

Parker Street Food & Furniture Bank’s goal with the Christmas Hamper Program is to provide a turkey dinner to 800 households across the Halifax Regional Municipality. Your donations go a long way in providing these meals to families in need. Christmas Sponsorship
Our Christmas Sponsorship Program is meant for families who need a little extra help during the holiday season. Families can submit personalized Christmas wish lists through this Program and a Christmas Sponsor will purchase the gifts for them. These sponsored gifts will be picked up or delivered with the family’s Christmas Hamper.
Please note that not every application will be approved and those not approved can still receive non-personalized toys with their Christmas Hamper.
Applications for Christmas Sponsorship will close Nov. 30, 2026. Applications to sponsor a family's Holiday will open Nov. 1, 2026.
